We Go to Deer Flat and See so Many Birds That I Might Be Getting Sick of Birds!!!!

Hello bird watchers, I am Seth your bird reporter that is very tired because I stayed up last night making a list of all the birds. There is some very important news for Mrs. Crawford's class. When we went to Deer Flat yesterday and saw so many birds. Here is the list, 6 Canadain geese, 1 Wood duck, 16 Mallard ducks, 4 California quail, 1 Double- crested Cormorant, 1 Great Blue Heron, 2 Northern Harriers, one female, one male, and we think they were trying to mate, 1 Swainson's Hawk, 2 Red-tailed Hawk, 1 American Coot, 2 Killdeer, 33 Marbled Godwit 2 Franklin's Gull, 4 Ring- billed gulls, 3 mourning doves, 1 American kestrel, 7 black billed magpie, 8 bank swallow, 1 barn swallow, 50 redwing black birds, and many more for a total of 28 species. Thank you Terrell Rich for coming along and helping us spot all these really cool birds and for posting them on E-bird. Also thank you Susan Kain and Kacey Kai from Deer Flat for arranging the bird walk, sharing your binoculars, and coming along to help us spot. Finally, thank you to the two other volunteers from Deer Flat who came along on our adventure.

White-Crowned Sparrows Have Taken Their Place on the Throne and are Fighting Over It!

Hello and welcome to the Bird News Show. Hello, I am your bird reporter, Seth, with some ROYAL news to day. At Mrs. Crawford's feeders the royal White-Crowned Sparrows have taken the throne but are fighting over the throne. Well I have to wrap it up, that is the rest for today. We Went to Celebration Park and saw a Flock of Violet-Green Swallows, Longbilled Creluw, Golden Eagles, Crows, and Robins!

 Hello, I am Seth, your bird reporter, with record breaking news. Mrs. Crawford's class went to Celebration Park and we saw a lot of birds. We saw a flock of Violet- Green Swallows, Two Golden Eagles, a Longbilled Creluw, Crows, and Robins. Wow, that is a lot birds. Also at Mrs. Crawford's feeders birds are nesting and that means that there are low numbers and that makes me :(. That is all for today, folks. This is your bird reporter, Seth, signing out for now.

Blackbird Fortress Has Been Built! Our Feeders Have Been Quiet but the Skys Have Not.

Hello I am Seth, your bird watcher and reporter, with some important news today. Red-winged Blackbirds have been coming to our feeders and right now we are calling our feeders Blackbird Fortress. The Blackbirds have been eating us out of seed but we are still surviving and we still have seed but we might run out by the end of the year. Who knows what will happen. There is more news. This time of year is nesting season so our feeders have been quiet but flying over head is the Canadian Goose and the beautiful Snow Goose.
